Deze laag beschermt de lak tegen invloeden van buitenaf. Het zorgt voor meer kleurdiepte en glans in de lak. Ook het straatvuil hecht zich niet meer goed vast aan de lak. De Ceramic Guard van Cartec is een coating op basis van Silicium Carbon. Maar waarom is de Ceramic Guard op deze basis ontwikkeld? Tussen Silicium Carbon en Silicium Oxide zit een belangrijk verschil. We leggen beide soorten coatings graag hieronder verder uit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Auto coating van Silicium Oxide<\/strong><br \/>\nEen Silicium Oxide Coating is een veel voorkomend type in de autobranche. Zoals wellicht aan de naam herkenbaar zit er in Silicium Oxide veel zuurstof. Op het moment dat een Silicium Oxide coating is aangebracht, verdampt het zuurstof uit de coating en verhard de silicium laag op de auto. Een SIO2 coating is hard maar ook breekbaar. Door de verdamping van de zuurstof is de laagdikte minder dan een coating op basis van Silicium Carbon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Auto coating van Silicium Carbon (Ceramic Guard)<\/strong><br \/>\nZoals al eerder genoemd is de Ceramic Guard van Cartec ontwikkeld op basis van Silicium Carbon. De reden hiervoor is dat Silicium Carbon sterk is, een betere laagdikte geeft en veel flexibeler en buigzamer is.<br \/>\nDenk daarbij aan de carbon vishengels die enorm mee kunnen buigen als er spanning op de hengel komt te staan. Dit is vergelijkbaar met de Ceramic Guard van Cartec.
