What is the two-bucket car washing method?
If you wash your car by hand, the two bucket technique is a useful way to safely and thoroughly clean your car. Here we explain to you what this method entails and why it offers any benefits.
Why do you use the two bucket method?
Washing the car can cause unnoticed scratches and swirls on the car paintwork. This is caused by dirt and contamination that gets into the wash bucket during washing. The pollution is thus unintentionally applied to the car over and over again. With the two bucket method, dirt and contaminants are prevented from entering the wash bucket.
Wat heb je nodig?
- 2 Cartec Buckets
- 2 dirtlocks
- 2 Cartec Bucket Dolly’s
- Car shampoo, such as Cartec Splash Shampoo or Cartec Cherry Wash
- 1 microfiber washing glove
Pro Tip: While washing the car, use the Cartec Bucket Dolly’s. They make it easy to move the buckets around and, thanks to the storage compartments, you have everything within easy reach. This makes car washing easy, efficient and organized.
How does the two bucket method work?
Step 1
Fill one bucket with clean water and the other bucket with clean water and the car shampoo. Use a dirtlock in both buckets. This will hold the dirt at the bottom of the bucket.
Step 2
First dip the wash mitt into the bucket of car shampoo and wash the car panel by panel. Work from top to bottom while washing the car.
Step 3
Rinse the wash mitt regularly in the bucket of clean water to remove dirt. This prevents dirt from reappearing on the car and reduces scratches.
Step 4
Repeat steps 2 and 3 until the entire car is washed.
Step 5
Rinse the car thoroughly until all shampoo residue is gone.
